The highway from Iligan City going to Dipolog and Zamboanga are full of Vultures or shall we say Terrorists along the highway be it Police, LTO, LTFRB that mulch on motorists particularly cargo trucks and passenger vehicles. Can the authorities (hindi ko alam kung sino ang lalapitan) do something about this?

Why don't we make it criminal for those who seek politicians' recommendations as one of the qualifications to apply and qualify for a job in the government and private offices? kasali na rin dito ang mga politiko or kumpare, kumadre. Criminalizing these acts will indeed improve our governance.

Some Malakanang officials (Dureza or Esperon?) stated that "it is illegal for civilians to bear arms against rebels more particularly the moro mindanao rebels". This statement is definitely CHILDISH, IMMATURE AND IRREPONSIBLE. What about these rebels? Is it legal for them to carry firearms? If the government troops will not defend the peace loving people, who will? Will Dureza and Esperon defend them with their secret agreements with these rebels? Just asking.

I n actuality there is no shortage in rice. Strategy lang iyan ni Yap na may shortage so the price of rice shall be increased (This is also a strategy used by Canada, U.S. and etc). I know because i am a rice farmer myself. That is why farmers in Bukidnon and perhaps in some regions of the country are barely selling their produce at NFA.

Details:
Location: Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro (Region IV in Luzon)
The Public Market in the capital city got burned again at around 2am and it seems that no one will be liable again because the local government will not do anything about it.
Is there a way to do an investigative journalism about this? Or probably inform the major network in the Philippines about this incident.
As far as I remember, this has been a regular occurrence and it is accepted as is and I think it is barbaric especially at this times na mahirap na ang buhay.
There's a lot of store there (hundreds), one example is a rice stall with 200k worth of rice stocks na sana e pagkain na ng masa. So nasunog lang ng ganun ganun
The Arroyo Gov't will probably not pay any attention to this because wala sila mapapala. Even publishing something on media needs a budget para lang ibalita.
I was hoping na we can just spread the word and may put this news at a significant place where it will be actioned.
The City of Calapan website is here: http://www.cityofcalapan.gov.ph/
The webmaster's email is here: bimbs0613@yahoo.com and here la21jr@cityofcalapan.gov.ph
Please do help peeps. Email, text, public forum etc. Maraming salamat in advance.

PIMENTEL ASSAILS CONTINUED DELAY IN PRIVATIZING CHANNELS 9 AND 13

Senate Minority Leader Aquilino “Nene” Q. Pimentel, Jr. (PDP-Laban) today expressed dismay over the long-stalled government plan to privatize two sequestered television networks — Radio Philippine Network-Channel 9 and Intercontinental Broadcasting Corporation-Channel 13 that have prevented them from upgrading their programs to survive the stiff competition in the broadcast industry.
“I am really amazed that after 21 years, they still do not know who are the real owners. RPN-9 and IBC-13 are still under the category of sequestered firms in the government which is contrary to the government’s free market policies,” he said. Information furnished by finance and press officials of the executive branch to the Senate revealed that in the case of RPN-9, the estate of the late Ambassador Roberto Benedicto is trying to reclaim up to 40 percent equity of the broadcast network. The ownership cases involving the two sequestered TV firms are still pending in the Court of Appeals, the Sandiganbayan and the Supreme Court.
Pimentel said the inordinate delay in the privatization of RPN-9 and IBC-13 is unfair to their employees who continue to suffer due to the declining advertising revenues. He said he has received complaints from the employees that their salaries are oftentimes delayed owing to the poor financial conditions of their companies. Worse, he said the management of IBC-13 has allegedly entered into some sweetheart deals with some favored blocktimers which are unfavorable to the network and prejudicial to the employees.

DOLE, DFA, POEA, OWWA, etc., do not seem to understand what the messages of the overseas workers in Nigeria through e-mail and other means of communications are requesting them to release or lift the ban that they have imposed since October 2007. It is very clear in the message that the situation here in Nigeria is much better than in our country in terms of kidnapping, robbery, bombing, rapes, extortion, other criminal acts, etc.
What sort of language and english do we need to tell them so that they can fully understand the message and have a logical mental awareness to decide what is good for the workers here in Nigeria.
We would like to repeat the simple message: We need the travel ban released or lifted. The safety situation here is much better than our country. Is that difficult to understand? Are they smarter than the fifth grader? Come on, we are the workers who need to support our family needs, not them, because, they can not even provide us with a relatively good paying standard job in our country . Before they can do that, our country's industrialization program must work out first. At this moment, it is not working, because, people in place are all corrupt.
Let the agencies mentioned above know that sooner or later, this issue might escalate to a serious matter if they are very unstable with their management relating to this matter. People here are now getting excited to some extent of driving wayforward views which are not healthy to both parties. it's just a matter of time.

Our people (the Filipinos) whoever are they, matured and responsible, should think twice to encourage change in our government corrupt officials. We should find trustworthy people to rule our government to enhance and improve our economy continuously and compete with other Asian progressive countries. If we do not do this in the next 20 years, we will be on the top poorest country in the world and the livelihood for lower clas will not no longer be manageable. We have hundreds of irresponsible politicians who, by the qualification alone, do not deserve to be in office, unfortunately, they were elected by the majority, probably without thinking of the future adverse consequence they contribute to the country. We all need to change and put in place the right people in the seat who are really qualified, honest and trustworthy. This can be workedout in due time for as long as each and every citizen voting for any post, must hearthily consider what is best for the country. Please put this reminder in your list of priority during election day.

So much has been said about Malu Fernandez, the Manila Standard Today columnist who resigned (or did she?) after the paper and People Asia magazine were bombarded with e-mails condemning her view of OFW's (overseas Filipino workers). Here are the links to the scanned artilce for you to read.

http://tesstermulo.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/people-asia-p31.jpg.
I think it's about time we Filipinos start a campaign to get rid of this mark: OFW. For some reason, some government official some time ago thought about the acronym as a shorter way of referring to Filipinos working on overseas contract jobs. I have been objecting to using that acronym for a long time, because I would'nt trade my being Filipino for any other name. Could we please act as one and have the government issue some order to quit using "OFW" in any way? Of course, they can't force anyone, but they can tell government functionaries to take that out of official conversation.
